He's only 6 months, you are expecting too much.

Are you feeding him his meals at the same time every day? Are you taking him out at the same time every day? How long are you staying outside with him? If he goes outside, I don't see how he could have any more to go inside. If he's doing it right after coming back in, you're not staying out there with him long enough.

Don't let him have full access to the house. Gate off certain areas, and he has to earn those places. The better he does, the more space he gets. This is not an overnight thing. It takes patience and lots of time. You have to keep an eye on him all the time.
