It's a little sad, but not all vets or breeders help us make a informed decision. I'm still confused about the renewal fee with Home Again. I know of one person who pays it every year. I've never paid but the chip is still good and I know Home Again will call me if Kaji gets lost. How do I know? I have the chip tag on my car keys. I lost them once at the park and those that found it called home Again, gave them my info and I was reunited my my keys 40 mins later.
Tibbe has Home Again and the one-time implant fee buys the chip and maintaining current contact/identifying and vet clinic data online. For an extra fee each year(which IMO Home Again makes sound mandatory), you may buy other services such as lost pet insurance and so forth. I did that for a year or two but stopped. But I can access/update our data online anytime and so far his chip scan shows he's active, etc.
