My vet didn't even talk to me about chip options. I didn't know there were so many until AFTER Kaji's neuter, which is when I had him chipped. She never told me she would be using Home Again, never told me about the website, never said anything other than "OK, it'll be $X" when I asked her to chip Kaji at the time of the neuter. It's a little sad, but not all vets or breeders help us make a informed decision. I'm still confused about the renewal fee with Home Again. I know of one person who pays it every year. I've never paid but the chip is still good and I know Home Again will call me if Kaji gets lost. How do I know? I have the chip tag on my car keys. I lost them once at the park and those that found it called home Again, gave them my info and I was reunited my my keys 40 mins later.
