Harley (6mos) has suddenly started barking. He's never done it before but when he hears the door open or someone knock, he barks. He barked at our neighbor the whole time stood in my sewing room the other day. It doesn't bother me when he barks at strange noises or because he doesn't know who's coming in. However my husband hates it. His opposition to a small dog is that "they're yappy". Harley is hardly yappy but I'm afraid he will become that way. Is there any way other than shushing him to stop it. Will shushing him even make him stop? I don't mind him barking when the door opens or someone knocks (even though my hubby does), but I don't want him barking at our guests.
