I think the cotton coats are harder to manage. I find that the longer the coat is getting, the more I'm battling with it. I find that the best product for the long hair cotton coat is the Les Pooch shampoo and conditioner. I use it with the ice on ice detangler. It still knots and snarles constantly. However, one plus of the cotton coat is that they don't get greasy or stinky as fast as a silky coat.
