My dogs(all but my first have been distantly related so don't know if it's the bloodline or what but they don't do well[to me} after anesthesia) stay the first night after surgery but by the 2nd p.o. day when I pick them up, they are still usually acting very lethargic, squealing tiny little, hardly audible sounds when moved or lifted, don't eat/drink hardly at all so I have to syringe some liquid in the side of the mouth, put a little soft food in the side pocket following the water a time or two. They do make it out to pee/potty shakily, though sometimes the potty part is not until the 3rd day! They scare me silly during this time but the vet just smiles and says they are fine, fine, fine so I imagine it is just me thinking the worst.

Hope little Maxi does fine, fine, fine too!
