Yoghurt wouldn't hurt the probiotic in it would likely help create good flora in his obviously upset tummy, try him on just plain cooked chicken for a while and the broth from the cooked chicken (no seasoning).
Cooked chicken is pure protein.
Is he drinking water then throwing it up right away, that is a sign of pancreatitis. I would recommend in that case adding a digestive enzyme to his food, human grade, half a capsule per meal. This will help break down the food and give the pancreas a bit of a rest and also a herbal supplement called curcugen. It's for pancreatic health. between that and the digestive enyme, and a probiotic you will help him greatly
