I dont understand how any parent wouldnt find this a great opportunity to teach compassion, respect and boundaries thereby fixing the whole thing with an apology, it wont happen again and understanding what they are doing to another living thing. At least take the time to educate them on the fact that barking and lunging isnt play. They may think this is good clean screeching doggy fun.
