For the face I use a big bath sponge that holds a lot of water. It is easy to control the quantity and where it goes. Works better for us than the cup. I do have a sprayer that attaches to the shower but neither is very happy about it. I do have a plastic tub with clips on both sides and that has been a fantastic help. To make it easier to use I put a big bin upside down in the tub then the dog tub on top of it.
