This was Clarion's response to our FB posts:
To Friends of Benji, I understand this is a very sentisive matter and there is nothing we would like more than to have Benji with his family right now. I can assure we are doing all we can to make this happen. We have conducted serveral searches on foot and by car. Have contact all local agencies and businesses in the Palm Parkway area and continue to send them updates and reminders to be on the lookout for Benji. We have filed police reports with the Orange County Sherriff's office and met with them again last night. Daily, we have contacted the local pet shelters to see if any new animals matching Benji's description have been found. As far as a staff member having Benji I do not believe this to be the case. Benji ran from the property and was pursued by several staff members until he ran into a heavily wooded area off Hotel property. I agree that charging for the pet fee was insentitive and was a complete oversight and human error on our part. This has been rectified and all hotel charges have been refunded to Benji's family. The Clarion has been a pet friendly hotel for over 25 years without prior incident. Although, I realize this not help nor comfort Benji's family I do want you to know we take our Pet Friendly status very seriously. Thank you all for your comments and concerns. |
