For the ear canal, I do not pluck all of the hair. Some vets and groomers favor taking all of the hair out of the canal, others do not. In threads here on YT, I believe it is 50 - 50 on reports of which way individual Yorkies do better preventing ear infections.
For my guys, I favor keeping the canal reasonably free of hair and I use a flea comb with closely set teeth to keep the remaining hair clean. Combing removes loose hair. |
Me, too, top 1/3 of ears only inside & out. Tibbe grows hardly any hair in his ear canals but I do have the vet herself clean those ear every so often & she will pluck some hair but leaves some. She does it right in the room.
