Your vet is pulling the wool over your eyes with HIS protocol! Pup gets first rabies shot, then a year later, gets second rabies shot, then you go to 3 years. When I transferred to a new vet years ago, I brought all my dogs records with me, and they took right up at the place we left of with vaccinations, and it was another 2 years before I had to do rabies vaccines again. So this is just crap YOUR vet is deciding he can do to ensure he gets as much $$$$ as possible when he finds someone that is aware of the 3 year protocol on rabies....you would be surprised at the number of people that would show up every 6 months for shots if their vet told them they had to do that...trusting and clueless! So when someone shows up that is aware of the 3 year protocol, now he has to comeup with something else to keep you coming. I would tell him I had checked with the State of Texas and what they say about the 3 year rabies protocol and it is my understanding.....". And then, if he was not willing to go with the laws of the state, I would change vets....I dont like people to try to lie to me for their own financial gain.....
