I registered Joey with the AKC because I believe in what they are doing and what they are trying to accomplish, I think not only breeders should support them, but also pet owners. Our money is used for many good things including search and rescue, and kennel inspections. The AKC is the only registry in the USA that does routine unannounced inspections. I would not support a breeder who registered with one of the "paper" registries and I certainly wouldn’t register my dog with them. I believe that they encourage people to illegally breed. People who have no breeding rights can register their offspring with them. Since they will register anything, I don't see how that would stand up as "proof" in any court of law. You don't even have to have a dog to register it with them. Microchip if you want proof! |
