If I couldn't do that, I feel they would be better off in single-dog homes, where they would get all the attention by default. Yorkies thrive on attention, and lack thereof prevents them from fully becoming the wonderful, happy dogs they can be, and can lead to behavioral problems!)
I have followed you on your journey of Yorkie ownership from the start... and I must say you've had quite the adventure! She really keeps you on your toes! One bit of advice: Remember you're the boss! You can set the pace on walks, you decide when to stop... etc. Reinforce your position by basic training... anything that requires her to do what you want, when you want it. You initiate playtime, you stop playtime. Feed her after you eat (leaders eat first). Hope this helps...
And, fyi... we're the same age! |
Good for you that you can do that with your doggies, I just know that I never could. I love my Beanie SO much that I wouldn't want to share that with other doggies. I just can't imagine having all those doggies at our "advanced age". ahahahahahaha I still feel like I am 20, except of course when my feet and shins hurt when I have just done my 3rd 30 minute walk.
And yes, I realize I am the boss, I actually am very good at that. I am just trying to find the balance between being the boss and letting her be a dog. It seems, like I said that the a.m. walk is the sniff walk, the afternoon walk is the more of a walk and the night walk is the zoom walk.
And thank you for following my progress with this little being and offering advice. She is my little lovie!!
