I know how alarming it is to hear them hack, Momo reverse sneezes a lot too esp after drinking or eating. I used to worry & had x-rays to see if he had collapsed trachea, even tho the vet tested by touching his throat & he was ok. Now, he knows the word 'swallow' & when I say it, he stops making those noises. If he doesn't, I go rub his nose & gently push it downwards to open his airway & it'll calm the spasm.
