I left Brandi in an expen while I was at work all day. It had all of the essentials such as potty pad, water bowl, etc. I also kept a webcam on her so I could monitor her behavior. Once she was fully potty pad trained she eventually had run of the house.
As much as I hated doing it, I needed to make sure she knew the rules of the house first before I gave her more freedom. That took a year and half. It wasn't something that happened over night. Now I trust her completely at home alone. She has run of the whole house and she has not had an accident for a few months now. When she does have an accident it's usually my fault (forgetting to put down a potty pad or something stupid like that).
Tell your friend to definitely setup a webcam if she does decide to go with a crate or expen. It will definitely give her peace of mind. When I watched the webcam, I was pleasantly surprise to learn that she slept most of the day. |
