She was explaining how she trained her little westie to use it. She said simply place her in it after a meal, sit and watch her while encouraging her to go to the potty. She said she didn't allow her westie out of the box until she pottied. Sounded simple....WRONG!!! Well, after meals, I wait a little bit and then place her in the litter pan. I continue to say "Go Potty" while she is in there and do not let her exit the pan right off. However, the sitting in the pan got longer and longer with her whimpering to come out. I felt horrible so I always let her out. BUT, she would immediately get out and pee, right in front of me! I couldn't believe it at first. So, I kept her in the box longer, thinking maybe I just didn't give her enough time. No matter how long I keep her in there, she keeps doing it. I just don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? Anything I can spray in there that might make her want to go in the box? Should we change the game plan (this early in it I am not sure that is the right thing but I could be wrong)? I need help!!!

I'm trying to figure out the best way to go with potty training my little one. With litter training, what all did you buy?

Also, you might try putting her poo poo in there so she can smell it - i don't know, it's just a thought as I am new at this too.
