I think your pic is of the snake shedding it's skin.... the lower part that you can see through is the shed... the upper part that you cannot see through is the snake! Right above the wire, you can see where the skin is just pulling off the snake. It comes off inside out, usually in one piece... it does stretch a little in the process.
