The hormone testosterone stimulates marking, and it’s is a wired in trait, it like a sneeze, how do you stop someone from sneezing? The testicles make the bulk of testosterone, so unneutered dogs will mark, and what’s more their urine smells much stronger than unneutered males. The adrenal glands make some testosterone, which varies greatly between individual dogs, so that’s why even neutered dogs males and females might mark, but usually it’s outside. A belly band is simply a wrap you place around the penis with a pad that soaks up urine. You should take it off to allow the dog to urinate, it’s only for holding the marking drops, not to be used as a diaper. By the way, marking has nothing to do with the need to urinate, it’s governed by smells and these smells trigger the leg to lift.
Are you planning to breed him? Why don't you want him fixed? The number one cause of death in unneutered dogs is injuries from car accidents. They can smell a female up to 10 miles away, and have an incredible urge to reach her.
