Britster, I couldn't agree more...I too have seen this statement thrown out more times than I can count. Sometimes it was warranted and sometimes not. I do agree that everyone should have the means to provide the basic routine care. It would be ideal if everyone did have a special account for emergencies, but as sad as it is we don't live in an ideal world.

I saw a survey done by the Associated Press that said 62% of the polled people would only spend $500 for a pets health emergency, I was shocked by that number. Fewer than half said they would spend $1000, and only 1/3 would spend $2000. I think a lot of people would spend the money to save their pet, I believe the problem is it's just not available to them. This is so sad for the pet.....
