If she reduced the price due to a medical problem with the dog, the prospective buyer certainly should have been told that at the same time the breeder issued any price quote. But to just not mention it until you were actually there on premises, when she knew you would see it during your own inspection, to me is something just not done by a reputable breeder. I wouldn't go look at a puppy with a hernia, let alone two, and would certainly be very angry if I'd traveled to a breeder's home and then be told about a medical problem with the puppy.
