No! You are not strange to feel this way. You saw something awful happen to an innocent little animal and worry it is in pain and scared and lonely there on that road. It is a terrible thing and it would haunt anyone. Do you know of a man who could go find it and put the poor little thing out of its misery humanely or take it in to the vet for care? It's so awful to think of any living little animal left like that and I'm sorry you had to witness it. I pray it is out of its misery by now.
