OH, they were nesting in the Ground !
That caned Spray works best for nest which are attached to a building...like that.
I guess I have another Note...
I've found that if you buy a "concentrated" Liquid like Malathion or Diasanon, you can mix up a quart/gallon and pour it down into the hole. That TOTALLY saturates the nest and ground around it, and you can make up several repeats of dosage, if other nests occur. That's a lot less expensive than buying Cans of Spray. It's also very good do pour around your foundation, to deter Ants and other insects.
Just another way to stretch your bucks.
