We also use Royal Canin and have had no problems, that is only our base kibble. Our Yorkies also get fresh steamed Veggies, Chicken breast, and other lean meats, low fat cottage cheese, brown rice, apple, pear,sweet potato and plain yogurt. We use raw green beans and home made jerky for training treats. Please read the toxic food list, grapes and raisins are very harmful to dogs.
