The household you adopted him from sound like it was..........."very active" ??? 5 kids, no bonding with the mistress of the house....poor little man has probably had to fend for himself, while fighting to survive 5 kids.....I would not let my own small child around him until he gets a little more accustomed to the idea that he doesnt need to fight to survive in your home! Please dont let your daughter get her little face down close to him....like trying to kiss on him....no doubt he will snap at her and may bite her in her face....I think you are going to have to let the pup decide when he is ready to associate with your daughter...not something you want to force on either of them....but I am NOT a trainer....people with much more experience integrating kids and traumatized dogs will hopefully help with this challenge!
