We have hawks and owls around our place. I have heard that a leash/harness won't deter them...been several stories of them swooping even when on a leash. I worry but all I can do is be vigilant and look out (and up). At night, I listen. If I hear a owl hooting anywhere in the area, I stand over her (yes, that means following her around..I'm a sight to see) with my arms out and waving about.

I'm not "at ease" with the entire situation but that girl loves being outside so...
