We are working on it slowly. Going out and sitting in the car without going anywhere, driving up and down the driveway, a little drive around the block. Poor guy, he just does not like going for rides.
I've read that ginger is helpful with nausea (in humans as well as animals) and that sometimes giving a dog a gingersnap cookie before travel can help. Not only do they get the ginger to help with the motion sickness, but they also get a treat which makes them associate car rides with good things. We may try this on our next drive.
