We never leave KS in the house alone for more than 3 hours. If it's longer, she goes to doggy daycare. We usually leave her for running short errands like to the grocery store, pharmacy, etc. When we leave, she has run of the house. Of course, we have dog proofed the house to the best of our knowledge. She is pee pad trained and so far has not had any accidents while we are gone. I leave the tv on for a bit of noise. Sometimes if it is a nice day, I'll raise the blind so she can get on her favorite window ledge to look outside if she wants. If it is nighttime, we shut all blinds and keep on several lamps. She hated being left alone at first, but now it has gotten to where I can be at the door, say the 'stay' command and she knows she has to stay.
