Well here is a bit of an easier solution for 'next time' LOL Spray yourself with Benedryl throat spray. Its an antihistimine with a numbing effect. I never had poison oak, but I used to get poison ivy so bad I had to go to the hospital when I was a kid. One time I was out with my parents somewhere far away from home, at least a 3 hour drive, and the poison ivy came on for me in mere minutes after the first itch I was covered. The place we were at had a first aid place, so my parents took me there. They sprayed me down with that benedryl and aside from being a target for bees all day, the itching and everything stopped.
