I dont have a purebred yorkie but that sounds like what Jaeger's hair did. I dont wash him more than once every two months unless he gets dirty (vet says his skin is too dry for baths more often) but when i'd brush him his hair wouldnt come out too well with the brush, but I could pull it gently out with my hands and it'd come out in clumps (it didnt hurt him.) As his hair grew out, the brush picked up more and more of it, then it subsided for awhile and it seems like we're going through the cycle again. Each time it happens I notice each hair has more silver and less black per hair-for Jaeger, it was just his puppy fur growing out.
