I never let them roam the house unsupervised and they never got free roam when we were gone until they were between 8 - 9 months old. Totally done teething and sure that there is no more chewing.

If you are worried about them sneaking off and taking chunk out of the baseboards or cords you need to be sure they have lot of toys and chews to keep them occupied. You could also try the tether/ leash trining techniques too. It helps you keep an eye on them without them sneaking off and getting into trouble.
