I do know that a slicker brush is not necessary for a silky coat. A good pin brush like a Madan brush works great. I really only use the brush for finishing Gracie's coat. I always make sure any tangles are taken care of with a good metal grooming comb before using the brush on her. I do think that most any dog needs grooming tools that get all they way down to the skin in order to prevent any mats from forming there.


I also use Yorkie Shine detangler -- I don't know if it's the best one out there, but it does make Lucy smell great especially after a few hot muggy days.
