No she was not on a leash. She was about 20 feet away from me in our postage stamp sized yard. There is no way I could adequately tell you all how fast this all happened. After it was all over and I had her in the house I found a very small, insignificant looking scratch on her back, but the vet said to bring her, so she got an antibiotic injection just in case.
Today she is on alert every time she goes out in the back yard and goes straight to "the spot" constantly. She is very "on alert" it seems. She is not as relaxed and playful in the back yard today, but I hope that may improve with time. All the neighbors are calling her CALI THE HAWK SLAYER. They can have no idea how scared I was. I think we were VERY VERY lucky!!
Don't EVER under estimate those preditors !
