Oh thanks so much for all this info. What a panic feeling to most i am sure, as they reach for their flea products to see what is used. Our Schnauzer is on Frontline which shows the main ingr. to be 8.8% (s)-methoprene, 9.8% fipronil and the remaining ingr's to be "inert ingr's. whatever that all is???!!!

Schatzie had some Advantage (???) I believe it was applied by the vet when we stayed at a cabin over Labor Day weekend and she became infested in only two days with fleas. (we did too, grossed us out! ) However, we called the vet on Saturday 3 hours away and was told to use just a drop or two of Dawn dishwashing detergenton a bath for her, dry her well, no drafts, and NO FLEA REMIDY OF ANYKIND OVER THE COUNTER!!!! She has not had a flea since (or tick) but I never ever thought of her biting on our Schnauzer in play (always on the neck)...

So far no problems....

It is amazing all the dangerous things for dogs/cats on the market...

So far, Schatzie is not on any heartworm medi, our Schnauzer Annabelle is on Interceptor and has never had a problem. (knock on wood)

Oh, how we worry so much about our babies!!!
