Ticks are a big concern. We can comb daily and an infected tick can latch on, suck the blood, infect the host and drop off before we find them. The deer tick which is the Lyme host is no larger than the head of a straight pen even when full. So, you can see why they are so dangerous..I buy a plant that smells like citronella and we use it on ourselves for skeeters and other little beasties. I have also rubbed it on my dogs but not into their skin. Just on their coat..I have used tea tree oil but someone said their dog had a bad reaction to that. Allergies in dogs as in people can occur to anything.
