 Fractured hind leg, splint or surgery?
Our yorkie puppy Mollie (4 months) slipped off our friends bed who was watching her. She noticed Mollie was limping, after an x-ray the vet discovered she had a fractured growth plate near her knee. It's in a spot where the fracture can get pulled apart more every time Mollie bends her leg.
The specialist told us we can splint the leg for a few hundred dollars but he recommends we do surgery to pin the fracture together ($1800). Do we need to do the surgery or will a splint work. We need to decide today or tomorrow.
