The specialist put charlie on lactulose to help reduce ammonia that would lessen the amount of stones he would get. I had to order it special and it came in last night he had his first dose 1ml (script is for 1ml 2 times daily) but this morning around 5am he threw up. he was fine afterwards so later on I gave him his first dose for today and fed him. now he is also on Metronid benz 1ml daily and 5mg prilosec I went to work and hubby called me around 10am letting me know that Charlie had thrown up again.
He has been doing excellent but when we started the lactulose he started witht he vomiting. I called the specialist and she stopped the lactulose but said she wasnt sure that it was the reason. she hadnt know that to cause vomiting with the low dose he is on.
Im wondering if all the meds together might be the issue you know maybe to much all at once.
If anyone has personal experience with lactulose I would love to hear from you. I vertainly dont want to start going backwards with his health.
