There are also home-cooked diets, but it's a lot of work and you have to get the balance just right. I used to homecook for my two when they were puppies, but it just got to be too much for me, plus they started not eating it. You can get a recipe from your vet if you choose to homecook. There are some supplements that you'd need, but nothing too drastic.
