Now Jiffy..... Needed to provide an update, since I started this thread back in 2009 when I bought a yorkie puppy from Pam Brummitt for $1,200. The original puppy, Jenna, had seizures, and I spent over $500 at my vet who advised me to ask the breeder for a replacement. After a lot of drama, Pam did give me a replacement puppy, with the promise she would not sell Jenna, she would keep her. (In a subsequent post I found out she did re-sell that puppy.
We named the new puppy Jiffy, she is now going on 3 years old and weighs over 10 lbs. and we love her dearly. Unfortunately, Jiffy just started having seizures as well, it was heartbreaking. Again, I've spent 100's of dollars at the vet. My vet said she most probably has epilepsy. So we've started her on Phenobarbital, twice a day. Does anyone else have a yorkie with epilepsy that could give me some advice. She's been gaining weight, and sleeps more. The vet said she'll probably have to stay on Phenobarbital her whole life. |
