So last sunday the second day of my hubbys vacation it started to rain about 3 pm. He came home from his rained out baseball game and said do you want to drive around and see the crazy weather? He told me that streets were all washed out and of course I grabbed the camera and off we went.
Our home is only 7 years old and we had no reason to worry well thats what we though until we went down to the basement and a vase floated past the stairs
So hours and hours and more hours of work and the house still needs more TLC but we are starting to get it back in order. Insurance will cover the loses and have asked us to submit the hours for our labour which I understand they will be paying us for. We have been down this road (creek) before in our old 100+ years home but never thought it would happen here.
We arent alone of course as there are 100's of claims from flood damage. Thankfully we opted not to finish the basement as that was something we had considered.
Gotta love Mother Nature.
