Applying coconut oil topically will not hurt her and is supposed to be excellent for hot spots and dry skin. Even if she licks it off, that's perfectly fine! Make sure you get cold-pressed extra virgin coconut oil. We use CocoTherapy but it's kinda overpriced (A LOT overpriced haha) so when we run out, I'm just going to get a jar of the Nutiva that you can get at GNC or online. Rubbing a little coconut oil on top of her flakey, itchy skin will definitely provide some soothing relief. I use it on my skin too for the same purpose...it works wonders!
