Sally, next time you burn yourself, put a little glob of plain yellow mustard on the burn and leave it until it dries and flakes off. I know...sounds crazy, but give it a try...you can add more mustard at any time but leave it covered in mustard. If you need to go out or something and cannot leave the mustard on, leave it on as long as possible, then remove it, and put lavender oil on the burn...get the good stuff or next best...it goes a long way. Lavender oil is great for sunburn, too.
