Now I would have to disagree you should not breed for anything but the correct color. To breed for reds and choc is not a good thing imo.
The choc do not have the greatest coats either they can be wirey also and not grow as long as the normal black coat ,reds I do not know that much about I know they can have sparce hair also and not grow as long, hair is thinner on the legs etc.
And with the blue it is if they carry the alopecia gene or not some do and some do not.
So for me I guess I would be too afraid that something would go wrong or have unhealthy pups with any of the 3 colors, and there is nothing worse than worring about pups will they be healthy etc. I would never take the chance my self. We had 2 blues and I never want to ever see another color besides black and brown in my whelpiing box.
So I would have to say those that are breeding for this color (red or choc or blue) do not care much about breeding the best yorkies they can. I feel they are messing up the gene pool and dont some people do that enough?
