I've never used any special shampoo on his head, I don't like using 2 different shampoos in once..
Right now I'm using Pet Head Fears for Tears, for the whole body, I like it

It has Kiwi and Apple smell, so good.
He has a short cut so I dont have to worry about matting, so I don't know if its any good for matts.
I also use it for my cats ! I love it, they are all so soft after bathtime and smell nice
