This is genetic and your breeder should be notified immediately...she needs to flag the breeding pair...they may be super, bred to different mates, but together, they dont do well....or it possibly could be just a fluke, with this one mess up from this one breeding...in any event, the breeder must be made aware of the situation. Along that same thought, your breeder should show interest and concern in this baby. She should be right up in there with you, getting test results and if it was me, I would be PAYING for the diagnostic testing required to properly diagnose this condition, and I would be refunding at least half the price of the puppy, if you want to keep the baby. She should offer you the opportunity to return the baby for another puppy, but most people dont ever want to do that...so I believe the breeder has a responsibility to help the new owner face this issue. In all fairness, you cant expect the breeder to refund the cost of the puppy as well as foot all the medical bills for the life of the baby, but it is reasonable to have half the price of the baby refunded and all initial diagnostic testing paid for. I would be seeing a cardiologist specialist...if you do not have one recommended to you, go to a vet school. They will have the equipment as well as the specialist needed to give you options for the best outcomes in your baby's case. Please keep us updated....
