I'm sorry for not updating sooner but I've been trying to get Yazmin to eat, and it's been a daily struggle! The good news is she had x-rays done and there's no signs of any problems with her neck or spine. At this point she seems to be choking and gagging and coughing when trying to swallow any hard kibble.
She's not bowing any longer but I think it's because she's refusing to eat anything hard. I started her on canned food over the weekend and she's at least eating now without choking. I took her back to the vet on Moday and he also checked her teeth and found nothing wrong. The vet think's she could possiably have a bacterial infection in her throat so he put her on a antibiotics for 10 days and said to continue feeding her canned food for now. Hopefully this will solve this problem, I'm praying!
Has anyone ever heard of a bacterial infection of the throat or have any thoughts on what else this may be?
I may need to figure out how to move this thread over to the Sick & Injured.
