If I could create a "garden" or "farm" where I only grew "dog food" perhaps I'd understand the difference. However, long before there was any product called a "dog"...anything...food...biscuit, etc., there was something we just called "food" and we grew it, and hunted it, and gathered it...and we people ate it and shared it with our dogs, cats, etc., to ensure their survival, and amazingly survived the ordeal.

I'd be concerned if the pizza was moldy, or there was something toxic in the trash can with the pizza that might have gotten on it, or even about all the nitrates and nitrites used to preserve the meats which could build up and cause long term health issues, but otherwise, I doubt there would be much of a problem...maybe a tummy ache...maybe a pukey-wukey.

Mine love pizza....they don't get it all that often, but they love it. I make it with all organic fresh ingredients including organic flour...or I get it from a source whose sources I also trust. My pizza is better for them than most 'commercial' dog food and it's minimally processed so there is actually more nutrition in it than high heat processed kibbles or cans. Additionally, with commercial kibble, even if the ingredients refer to what we think of healthy fruits and vegetables IN that kibble...and we think in terms of people nutrition mostly 'cuz most of us are not 'skilled' in canine/feline nutritional needs...we should take into consideration that THOSE fruits and vegetables 'may' be GMO, or sprayed with pesticides...watered by affluent dispersion, or from a polluted water source, or any number of other harmful things.

I've had pets almost continuously since I was a kid and they have all eaten "food" we cooked for them as well as some "commercial pet food" products...and all have lived in good health until quite old. When I feed healthy foods to my cats and dogs based on what the animal would hunt/eat in its 'normal'/'wild' environment, at least I have a halfway decent idea where the food came from and how it was prepared...and...I like that!

...confused again...and saddened by the response...

I will look again when I have more time, but I do not recall seeing in the YT member rules, and was therefore completely unaware, that it is the "length" of a post that determines its status ("rant" vs information/opinion sharing, etc.) rather than the "tone" (confrontational, accusatory, defensive, congratulatory, welcoming, happy, etc. ) of the post. I asked exactly one rhetorical question which I myself answered within the same post...and asked nothing of you.

Correct...thank you for your kind, polite intervention on my behalf.

I, in fact, did not mention brand at all...only industry (commercial, farm, private garden, hunting, gathering, etc.)...and made no references to the poster personally. I merely presented and answered one (1) purely rhetorical question based on a currently and widely held public 'mindset' created by highly successful advertising campaigns over more years than I have been alive that there are 'significant' (i.e., 'shocking') differences between the "sources" of "dog" vs. "people" foods. From that, incorrect conclusions were clearly formulated and escalations occurred even though I made no reference in what I wrote to anyone's handling/feeding of their dogs/pets other than myself. My post clearly shows that I knew the OP's dog ate ill-gotten ("trophy") gain (pizza) from the trash as well ("something toxic in the trash can with the pizza") rather than being intentionally fed it by the OP, whose post I actually read...see confusions (4) and (5) above. However...no worries..."capt_noonie" has seen to it that I've been substantially "put in my place" accordingly:

nanahas3,

Thank you. You were most kind, and I appreciate your response. I appreciate also that you understood what I meant. I wish you and yours all the best always!

capt_noonie,

While I remain completely confused as to the responses I have received from you, I genuinely hope you and yours are well and happy, and that Uni never has another bout with pancreatitis, or any other illness, ever again.

I know there are now considerably more than enough "inches" in this post to warrant another "rant" insinuation.

My apologies to the admins for the length required for hopefully complete understanding without getting me "banned" from YT, and for any disruption my post has caused for the YT forum.

...now exiting this thread so as to not cause any further issue...

Take care, all!
