Wise words! You can really give a dog the life of a princess for $ spent just in testing and then, could very well find out there is a condition that contraindicates breeding!

Plus, I remember reading the Joan Gordon's 1976 book, The Complete Yorkshire Terrier and the section about breeding for correct color and coat and the genetics possibilities even in that old book just crossed my eyes. I must have reread that section 4 times before I got a handle on all that they were saying and trying to communicate just on that one aspect of what color/coat to cross with what other color/coat!!! And that is only a tiny part of what to know about breeding for standard, let alone all the huge considerations about health and temperament.
