You asked in another thread if your pup can get worse before she gets better... yes, this happens often. It all depends on your pup's immune system, and the strength of the Parvovirus. Some get it worse than others, maybe due to different strains or the virus. The virus has to run it's course, the pup/dog's systems are supported through IV fluid therapy. The fluids going in are to replace any fluid lost through vomiting and diarrhea. She should remain on the IV fluids until all vomiting and diarrhea have stopped, and she begins eating without vomiting, and has normal elimination. Then the IV fluids can be stopped.
