Let me start this post by saying that I am very sorry for the loss of Bonnie.
I don't think breeding has anything to do with the unfortunate and very sad death of the dog. I'd be more interested in the errors made at the vet, and if there were none, then at the very least looking more into the dog's underlying medical status which may have prompted the inability to withstand the procedure.
The risk of anesthetic death is less than 1% of 1%. This a concern for all of us, however it is a very small one in the big scheme of things. I would need some answers as to why the dog died, if there are any to be found.
Again, my condolences.
